Haunted Laird by Tara Nina ~Blog Tour & MORE!!!!~

Haunted Laird
Tara Nina

Book four in the Cursed MacKinnons series.

Lynn’s ghost-hunting trip in Scotland takes an unpleasant turn when she’s kidnapped from her camp by a group of men rambling about curses and a brotherhood. In a daring escape, Lynn falls over a cliff and awakens in a cave being guarded by a ghost, who insists she’s the key to freeing a man who has been cast in stone by an evil curse. And what a man he is…

Padon has been imprisoned for over two centuries, frozen in stone. He is awoken when a sexy siren recites the anti-curse, but he is only partially free. Stone by day, man by night. Passion ignites between him and his savior immediately, which makes falling to the curse each morning that much harder. He and Lynn seek a resolution by making the trek to Padon’s family castle. But the kidnappers have other plans and will do whatever they must to make sure this couple never makes it to their destination.

My Thoughts
I have to first start by saying this is totally another reason why I'm so glad I became a MacKinnon Clan member!
True to form this book rocks!
Another "brathair" has been found...and it's nice that Lynn is not some stick figure (even is the cover girl shows different...lol)
Lynn is cool...I really liked that she is completing a dream she had made when her husband was still alive. It's so gosh darn sweet! She's so open to the fact that things aren't always what the appear to be and that's really up lifting for a character.
Travis and Fin where too cute..OMG!!! You just couldn't not like them....Well maybe Fin in the beginning, but you get over it.
I really and I mean REALLY wish someone would water board Brother Leod already!!! After four "brathairs" and I still wish I could jump into the book and help take out the jerk!!!! (Aside from founding one of the missing "brathairs")
I think I could handle all the chaos it takes finding one....this one only took a kidnapping...falling off a cliff...a hot ghost named Jasper...AWESOME WATERFALL SCENE.....a mad dash through a dark forest..being doubled crossed... yep after all this ...why the heck not finish the job...The SHOWER SCENE IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!
Of course the SUNRISE AT THE END....HMMMMMM
Wonderful book for mature adult readers!

Haunted Laird
Ideas & Series
Blog

Thank you for giving me this wonderful opportunity to visit your blog. Your kindness is greatly appreciated and comes at the perfect time for me. I have a new release with Ellora’s Cave Publishing. Haunted Laird is book four in the Cursed MacKinnons series. I love writing this series. It’s about seven brothers who were turned to stone by the Curse of the Gargoyle (book one) in 1740 Scotland. The women they were destined to be with are setting them free in today’s time.
It’s been asked of me several times how I came up with this series. I wish I knew. Seven brothers cursed hundreds of years ago in the romantic setting of Scotland. There really is no definitive explanation for how a plot forms, characters are born, or why an idea takes root in the mind and doesn’t let go until the author has created a new novel for the reader to enjoy. Who doesn’t love a hot, sexy Scottish laird? And this series has seven of them, each with their own story to tell.
Writing a series can be tough. It can be difficult to keep the stories straight and intertwined at the same time. I found a way that helps me. I’m a pantser, which for those who don’t understand, it means I don’t plot my stories out before starting to write. I just go with the flow, but I do have a set of steps to follow and keep my novels straight.
Create files for every story. Place everything in a main folder and give it the book’s title. Then create subfolders/files containing vital information. Keep a character folder, which lists everything from eye color to their likes and dislikes and any flaws. I like having a file labeled: Important story facts. This one keeps a running tab on the landscape, who lives where, helps with the timeline, and any other tidbit of info that might pop up throughout the story. I can’t depend on my memory to help me keep things straight so this file system is my way of writing it down. I have an author friend, C.H. Admirand, who uses a notepad. I’d be afraid I’d misplace it.
There has to be a thread connecting the stories. I hit a problem with how to do this with the seven brothers. They were hidden in statue form. How were they going to be set free? In the first book, it was easy. The second book, not too hard either. But the third book, I hit a wall. Luckily, I have a wonderful author friend, Cait Miller, who helped me with a viable thread that was touched on in the first two books. Each of the first two brothers had a ghost protecting them and the partial anti-curse was readily available for the heroines. In order for the other brothers to be released, access to the anti-curse had to provided. That’s where the ghostly protectors came in, which is the thread that helps connect the stories. Brother to brother, ghost to ghost and a partial anti-curse the heroine must speak in ancient Gaelic.
I love the MacKinnons and this series. Book five is in the works. I’m aiming for seven books in total. Unfortunately for the members of the MacKinnon Clan fan club, I’m not a full-time writer. But I do like hearing from them asking about the next book and when it will be finished. Every moment that I’m not at the day job, I’m at the laptop listening to the voices in my head and telling their tales, hopefully for everyone to enjoy.
Thank you for having me here.
